The teres minor is a narrow, intrinsic shoulder muscle that extends from the lateral border of the scapula to the greater tubercle (or tuberosity) of the humerus.[1] It contributes to the “rotator cuff,” a capsule of muscles and tendons that collectively stabilize the glenohumeral joint. The teres minor is responsible for lateral, or external, rotation of the arm at the shoulder.[2][3]
