In this view, the lateral border of the left ventricle (LV) is delimited by the midlateral wall as opposed to the inferolateral wall on the apical four-chamber view. The apex of the left ventricle is rarely seen in this view and the right ventricle (RV) is usually smaller than the left. LA: left atrium; RA: right atrium.
