©2013 UpToDate ® Print Email Pelvic x-ray: Anteroposterior view demonstrating osteopenia This anteroposterior plain x-ray of the pelvis was obtained in an elder female patient with low back pain. The radiograph reveals diffuse osteopenia of the pelvic bones but no fracture. When symptoms persisted, an MRI study was obtained that revealed an insufficiency fracture of the sacral ala.
