©2013 UpToDate ® Print Email Anterior drawer test The test is performed with patient's foot in neutral position. The lower leg is stabilized by the examiner with one hand. With the other hand, the examiner grasps the heel while the patient's foot rests on the anterior aspect of the examiner's arm. An anterior force (direction of the arrow) is applied to the heel while holding the distal anterior leg fixed. Excessive anterior displacement suggests ligamentous injury.
