©2013 UpToDate ® Print Email Ankle fracture complicated by complex regional pain syndrome Early Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) in a patient with a lateral avulsion fracture. The patient had been treated with weight bearing as tolerated in a walking cast boot. The patient presented with increased pain, swelling, warmth, and skin changes 23 days after the injury.
