A person is said to have "B symptoms" if he or she had: unexplained fever (higher than 100.4 F or 38 C), night sweats, or unexplained weight loss during the six months prior to diagnosis. For example a person with stage II disease who had B symptoms has stage IIB disease. In contrast, a person without B symptoms has stage IIA disease.
