©2013 UpToDate ® Print Email Atypical adenomatous hyperplasia (A) This 3-mm nodular lesion consists of atypical pneumocytes proliferating along preexisting alveolar walls. There is no invasive component. (B) The slightly atypical pneumocytes are cuboidal and show gaps between the cells. Nuclei are hyperchromatic, and a few show nuclear enlargement and multinucleation.
