©2013 UpToDate ® Print Email Auricular cellulitis A 19-month-old child with a red, swollen, anteriorly displaced auricle after 10 days of treatment with amoxicillin. The posterior aspect of his auricle was erythematous, but his mastoid process was nontender, and his tympanic membrane was normal. Computed tomography demonstrated normal mastoid air cells, and his cellulitis responded to antistaphylococcal antibiotics. Reproduced with permission from: Fleisher GR, Ludwig W, Baskin MN.
