©2013 UpToDate ® Print Email Beta blockers and ACE inhibitors have synergistic effects in asymptomatic LV dysfunction In the SOLVD-prevention trial of 4223 patients with mostly asymptomatic left ventricular (LV) dysfunction, those receiving a beta blocker and enalapril had a significantly lower all cause mortality compared to those receiving beta blocker or enalapril alone (relative risk 0.7); this was due to a significant reduction in death from arrhythmia or pump failure.
