Each curve defines the optimal BMI or waist circumference which predicts having three or more cardiovascular risk factors (high blood pressure; low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol concentration; or high low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglyceride, glucose, or insulin concentration, adjusted for age) at a given age.
