©2013 UpToDate ® Print Email CT scan fasciola hepatica The CT scan of the liver reveals a focal cluster of variably sized hypodense lesions surrounding the porta hepatis in segment IV and V. The lesions are noted in image A and magnified in B. The lesions (white arrows) are round to oval in shape, and associated with regional adenopathy (yellow arrow). In addition, characteristic linear tracts extending along the portal triads are noted in image C and magnified in D (blue arrows). The tracts reflect the migration of the parasites. The findings are characteristic of fasciola hepatica.
