©2013 UpToDate ® Print Email Cerebrovascular accidents in sickle cell disease and its variants Age at first cerebrovascular accident (CVA) and cumulative incidence of CVA in 2436 patients with sickle cell anemia (Hb SS), 839 with Hb SC disease, 188 with Hb S-beta (0) thalassemia, and 184 with Hb S-beta (+) thalassemia.
